Hearts For Haiti
Our children did a wonderful job of putting together and selling "Hearts for Haiti", raising $225 which will be sent to the American Red Cross. Thanks to everyone who supported our children's outreach project.
Orphange in Need
Jamie Yingling has a co-worker who will be traveling to Haiti this month. He will be taking supplies for an orphanage who lost everything. I don't have a list of needed items; Jamie says they'll take anything. Donations need to be received at Graceham by March 14. Thanks!
Church World Service Baby Kits and Hygiene Kits
We will be receiving donations for Baby Kits and Hygiene Kits which will be sent to Haiti through Church World Service which is based in New Windsor, MD. Please place your assembled kits or items for kits in the marked box in the vestibule. We will be receiving items through April 4. The following items are being collected:
- Baby Kits:
All items should be new. Wrap items inside one of the receiving blankets and secure with both diaper pins.- Six cloth diapers
- Two T-shirts or undershirts (NO onesies)
- Two washcloths
- Two gowns or sleepers
- Two diaper pins
- One sweater or sweatshirt
- Two receiving blankets (one can be a hand-knitted or crocheted baby blanket)
- Hygiene Kits:Lay the smaller items on the hand towel. Fold it to make a packet that will fit in a one-gallon plastic bag. Seal all items in a one-gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure.
- One Hand Towel (Approximately 16"x 24")
- One washcloth
- One wide-tooth comb
- One nail clipper (no metal files or emory boards)
- One toothbrush (in original packaging)
- One bar of soap (bath-size in wrapper)
- Six band-aids
JC Crusaders Game Night
The JC Crusaders (5th-8th grade) will have a Game Night on Friday, March 12th from 7-10 P.M. Bring your favorite board game or video game (rated Everyone.) Of course there'll be plenty of food to munch on…a great way to cure the Winter Blues and welcome Spring!
"Impact" Senior High Youth Conference
Five youth along with chaperones Judy & Ernie Fisher will attend "Impact" in Ocean City, MD the weekend of March 26th-28th. Our group will leave the church at 1 P.M., prayers for a safe journey and an awesome weekend.
Eggs-Ellent Easter
All children through fourth grade are invited to participate in our annual Eggs-ellent Easter activities and Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3rd. There will be a variety of activities available. The morning's activities will begin promptly at 9:45 A.M. and end at 11:15 A.M. with the Easter Egg Hunt. Donations of hard-boiled colored eggs are appreciated. Please place them in the fridge in the kitchen. Hey kids, get those Easter baskets ready for lots of eggs!
There will be no Sunday School on March 21st and Easter Sunday, April 4th.
2010 "Camp Hope"
We had the largest group of children and youth attend Camp Hope in 2009 that we have had in many years…and they all had a wonderful experience! Some of our parents have already marked their calendars for "Camp Hope." We have not yet received the 2010 brochures yet, but the schedule is listed below and registration forms are available on-line at www.camphope.org

The Christian Education continues to encourage and support our youth in their attendance at Camp Hope, scholarships are available through CEC. In addition, 5th-8th graders will be raising money for Camp Hope through their participation in the BIG Sweep on Sunday, April 25. JC Crusaders, if you are planning to attend Camp Hope, we are asking you to participate in the BIG Sweep, so please mark your calendar now. Any one who is planning to attend any of the above camps, should contact Joanne as soon as possible, so we can begin to plan accordingly.
