Sunday School Christmas Program
December is here, and we are busy getting ready for our annual Sunday School Christmas program. This year's program "Mary Had a Little Lamb…That's My Story and I'm Sticking to It" is scheduled for Sunday, December 18th during the 10:30 am service. All children in the Toddler/Two's through 3rd grade are invited to be a part of this program. Let's prepare to celebrate that glorious night that our Lord and Savior was born.
The December rehearsal schedule is as follows:
- Sunday, December 4, 12:00-1:00 pm
- Dress Rehearsal - Sunday, December 11, 12:00- 1:00 pm
Bag lunches will be available in the Little Church Room immediately after the 10:30 service, so everyone will be fed and ready to practice. Parents and children, thank you for your cooperation!
Morning Star Soloists
Rehearsals for Morningstar Soloists will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, December 4th and 11th immediately after the 10:30 am worship service, and on December 18th in the sanctuary. Attendance at the rehearsals is mandatory. For more information, contact Ann Miller at 301-898-9033.
Ring In The New Year With Dinner And A Movie
We had such a positive response to our Dinner and a Movie series last winter, that we have decided to "Ring in the New Year" with a special Dinner and a Movie.
Our dinner and a movie event is scheduled for Saturday, December 31st. We will begin the evening in the Fellowship Hall with a covered dish dinner beginning at 6:00 pm. Just bring your favorite dish, we'll provide the main course, drinks and place settings. After dinner, we'll share in making a simple craft for the New Year, then move up to the sanctuary to watch "Annabelle's Wish" on the big screen.
"A lovable calf named Annabelle born on Christmas Eve has a very special wish…to fly like one of Santa's reindeers. Based on the farm legend that Santa gives voices to the animals for one day each year, this tender tale of friendship and compassion begins when Annabelle makes friend with Billy, a young boy who cannot talk, and a friendly bunch of barnyard animals. Together they contend with Billy's mean aunt and the bullies in the neighborhood. Annabelle shows everyone the true meaning of Christmas by making one very special wish come true."
This is a true holiday classic about unselfish giving, filled with original songs by Randy Travis, Allison Krauss and Beth Nielson Chapman. This movie will warm your heart for years to come, so whether you're 4 or 84, please join us.
